Differences between wordpress and blogger:

Differences between wordpress and blogger may be a major question asked by many newbie bloggers because they possess many similarities.

There are basic differences between wordpress and blogger i would like to point out here.

differences between wordpress and blogger

If you plan to own a blogging platform without operating your own website(e.g. yourname.com),then you have to choose between the two most widely used blogging tools on the internet today.

These two platforms that allows you to blog online are wordpress.com and blogger.com.
So,if you’ve decided to start a free and personal blog for yourself or for business, you can choose between those two but there are significant differences between wordpress and blogger for blogging.
These should be noted:
For blogging or free sites, your url should look like this:
WordPress.com: yourname.wordpress.com
Blogger.com: yourname.blogspot.com

For personal blogs or self hosted blogs or sites, your url should look like this:
WordPress.com or wordpress.org: yourname.com
Blogger.com: yourname.com

On the blogging platform, these major differences between wordpress and blogger could be summarized as follows:

#1. WordPress.com blogging platform allows you to create your free blog with suitable themes but there are no much themes to be used on blogger.com.

#2. The blogger’s Dynamic views theme may not suit everyone’s taste but you have the upperhand of choosing your themes on wordpress.

#3. Blogger recently disabled the old feature of blogger which can allow you to blog from mobile but with wordpress blog, you can blog via mobile without any restrictions.

#4. In both wordpress and blogger, you may have to upgrade certain enhancements before you can make full use of them.

#5. WordPress enhances the functionality of your site with the use of plugins unlike blogger that uses no plugins.

#6. In wordpress, with the knowledge of HTML and CSS,you can virtually configure everything on your blog to suit your taste unlike that of blogger.
#7. Blogger allows you to display advertisements on your site unlike wordpress that has this against their Terms of Service.

#8. WordPress site, whether blogs or self hosted domains are more search engine optimized than blogger blogs or sites.

With these basic differences between wordpress and blogger,i hope you were able to identify that with a wordpress blog, you can maximize the full potentials of owning a blog instead of using blogger.

Now on the part of personal or business websites,

There are no much differences between wordpress and blogger if you hope to upgrade your wordpress or blogger blogs to operate a unique domain name.

A blogger.com self hosted domain has the basic features you’ve been using on blogger.com.

A wordpress self hosted domain also has the basic features you’ve been using on wordpress.com.

But,on the part of wordpress, when you upgrade your blog to a self hosted domain, you will have additional features added to your site’s backend.
These features could be access to additional plugins, ability to edit your site’s themes, ability to allow registrations on your site, display ads and lots more.

I hope that with this atricle, you were able to know that the major differences between wordpress and blogger lies on which platform you wish to use.
For me i prefer to use wordpress whether it’s a simple blog or a self-hosted website.
